The purpose of the Lima South High School web site is to keep the memories of the high school, and the
"Class Of 1955", preserved through various pages containing information and photos. It is our intent that all
former alumni, and attendees of this great institution can also view our web site.
The reunion committee of the "Class Of 1955", decided to embark on this venture at one of our quarterly meetings. Through committee donations, and the South general fund, this feat was accomplished.
The page headings were created by the committee chairman, Jim Rex, and his crew, and will be responsible
for their content. Some of the pages will be updated periodically as new information is received. Mr. Emil R. White, designer of the site, will be responsible for maintaining this site. A big thank you is in order for Mr. Dan Bowden, a member of W.C.O.I.L., internet service, for helping us to introduce this site to you.
The filmstrip contains the following photos from left to right: Lima Stadium with seating for 6000, Lima South facade, girl's gym( with seating in a balcony), auditorium with 1400 seats, north tower staircase, boy's gym(with 1,000 seats on two levels), and an entrance that they incorporated into the new South Middle School.
Photos by Herb Lanker, Emil White, and one old postcard; unknown photographer.
Thank you committee member, Herb Lanker, for helping edit our web site. Your assistance is a valuable
asset to the committee and Lima South High School.
